Bartica Potaro emerged Under-13 champions while Bartica South took the Under-17 title when the inaugural Phoenix Sports Club organised tournaments concluded on Sunday last at the Bartica Community Center ground.
Bartica Potaro for their efforts won the Gordon Bradford (Regional Chairman – Bartica) trophy along with the Citizens Bank floating trophy. Beaten finalists, Bartica North were presented with the Citizens Bank runner-up trophy.
In the third place match, Goshen defeated Bartica Central and took home the Citizens Bank third place trophy.
Taking away the individual prizes were Ian Gomes (Most Valuable Player), Tyrese Gomes (Highest Goal Scorer), Delon Jones (Best Goalkeeper), O’Neil Richardson (Best Mid-Fielder) and Daniel Jeffrey (Best Defender). Goshen Football Club was adjudged the Best Dressed Team.
In the Under-17 tournament, Bartica South defeated Bartica Potaro 2-0 in the final to win the Gordon Bradford trophy as well as the Harts Mineral Company floating trophy.
Bartica Potaro was presented with the Hart’s Mineral Company runner-up trophy. Individual standouts were Coby Jones (Highest Goal Scorer), Michael Hendricks (Highest Goal Scorer) Marlon Cain (Best Goalkeeper), Nicholas Harrison (Best Defender) and Anzel Edwards (Best Mid-Fielder).
