Number of new imports lined up for feature event
With some last minute juggling taking place and action time just a few days away all roads leads to the famous Arima Park Turf Club, Rising Sun, West Coast, Berbice for the Guyana Cup Fever Horserace meet slated for
this Sunday.
The event, which is organised by the Jumbo Jet Auto Sales and Racing Stables in collaboration with the Rising Sun Turf Club, has a massive $10M injection. With thousands of Guyanese home as usual for the Easter celebrations the Rising Sun Turf Club is expected to be bursting at the seams as it has been confirmed that over 70 entries have been received for the richest Easter holiday event.
Seven top class races are on the cards with most of the top horses in the country slated to participate.
Beverage Giants Banks DIH Limited and the Trophy Stall have come on board in a big way for the event. Apart from the Jumbo Jet Businesses, other major sponsors include Nanad Persaud and Company Limited, Shariff Business Entity and racing Stables, Fazal Habibulla and the Rising Sun Cattle ranch, Chester Fry Chicken of Bush Lot West Coast Berbice and Kris Jagdeo and Company.
At the moment the facilities at the RSTC are in the best of condition especially with the long dry season the stands, track and paddock have all being spruced up and a day of action packed racing is anticipated.
The Jumbo Jet stable has so far confirmed over 10 runners for the day’s event. Other big stables such as the Shariff, Bacchus, Elcock, Singh, Bactowar, Crawford, Jagdeo, Baker, Habibulla and Mahaicony among others are expected to field multiple entries.
A preview of some of the horses listed to participate in the various events will show that – The feature A and lower 1400M event for a $1.2million purse and trophy will see the likes of C.P Got Even, Just call Me Bass, American Boss, Plum Plum and Spit Fire throwing down the gantlet against new sensation Golden Blue Echo of the Nand Persaud Stable. They will be joined by a number of newly imported animals in the likes of King’s Knight and Climate Change of the Jumbo Jet Stable and Because I Say So of the Elcock Stable. These animals have come in with high ratings and are expected to take the arena by storm.
The F1 and lower event has the likes of Swing East, Release the Beast, Right To Rule and Precise Gold battling for the winner’s take of $600,000 and trophy over 1400M.
Witchy Poo will be looking for another win in the 1100M event for West Indies bred three year old animals, but will have to beat off the likes of Time Line, Caricom Dancer, Red Rocket and Isn’t She Charming for a top prize of $400,000 and trophy.
The G2 and lower 1400M match up will see such animals as Rosetta, It’s My Choice, Settling Star, Midnight Blue and Big Man Bass running for a winning pocket of $400,000 and trophy.
The Guyana Bred three year old maiden horses will have among them Fire ball, Lil Dude and She Is in Control among others competing for the first prize of $300,000 and trophy over 11000M.
Cat Messiah, Jumbo’s Gift, She So Special, the Girl Is Mine, Sweet Return, Silver bell, Atlantic Storm, Mary Ann, Glamour Queen and Amazing Run are among the large field assembled for the H3 and lower 1400M event for the $250,000 winner’s purse and trophy.
Another large field that includes Sunny Silence, Royal Stallion, Another Storm, Plane Land, Amazing Warrior, Golden Kiss, Liquid Lion, and Massiquita Dr have taken entry for the J1 and lower 1100M for a pole position taking of $200,000 and trophy.
Kites and other giveaways will be a part of the day’s activities, while Crown Vibes International will be providing musical entertainment.
Top horses, stables and jockeys will be awarded with trophies compliments of Ramesh Sunich Managing Director of the Trophy Stall of Bourda Market.
