Malvin, the driver of hire car HC 3021, completely wrecked his Toyota Raum, after he allegedly lost control and crashed into a GTT interconnected box at the Canje turn at the entrance to the Fort Ordnance Housing Scheme. The incident allegedly occurred in the wee hours of Wednesday morning.
Information revealed that the driver was under the influence of alcohol and was going at a fast rate when the vehicle failed to stop at the Canje turn junction. The car flew over the road, crossing the Corentyne highway before crashing into the GTT interconnected box uprooting it, before coming to rest in a drain next to a Chinese Restaurant.
This is the third time the driver has wrecked a vehicle. He has been involved in other accidents. The first time he crashed into an ambulance coming off the Canje Bridge in front of the New Amsterdam Technical Institute.
He then slammed into a parked truck in front of a supermarket at Cumberland. That area is always frequented by a number of persons. Luckily no one was in the path of the out of control car at the time.
The driver has been hospitalized.
