A number of sponsors are getting onboard while all the major stables are busy rounding out preparations for the much anticipated Guyana Cup Fever horserace meet.
Organised by the Jumbo Jet Business entity and racing stables the event is set for this Sunday at the famous Arima Park race track, Rising Sun, West Coast Berbice.
Apart from the Jumbo Jet Businesses other major sponsors on board include Banks DIH Limited, Nanad Persaud and Company Limited, Inshan Bacchus Trucking and racing stables, Shariff Business Entity and racing Stables, Fazal Habibulla and the Rising Sun Cattle ranch, Chester Fry Chicken of Bush Lot West Coast Berbice.
Over 45 horses have been entered so far for the event.
Seven races are on the cards with close to $10M in cash, trophies and other incentives up for grabs.
The feature A and lower 1400M event for a sumptuous $1.2 million winner’s money and trophy is already being eagerly anticipated with most of the top runners in the country down to take part including the likes of Golden Blue Echo, C.P Got Even, Just call Me Bass, Princess She Not, American Boss, Score’s Even and Plum Plum will have ideas, while others such as Spit Fire, Jack in My Style, Street Prince, Giants Time, Diplomatic Cat, Kazi Azaria, Unsettled, Perfect Wind Strom, Goodwill Boy, Lady Budapest and Western Charm will be in the running.
Horses such as Strom Bird, Cat Messiah, Swing Easy, Comprador, It’s My Choice, Witchy Poo, Firing Line, Red Rocket and Isn’t She Charming and Midnight Blue are all expected to feature prominently at the days meet.
The other events on the day programme are-The F1 and lower event has a winner’s take of $600,000 and trophy from a total winning prize of $ 1.1M over 1400M.
There is an 1100M event for West Indies bred three year old animals for a top prize of $400,000 and trophy with a total prize of $ 750,000.
The G2 and lower 1400M match up will see the animals racing for a winning pocket of $400,000 and trophy with a combined purse of $750,000 and trophy.
The Guyana Bred three year old maiden horses will have a chance at competing for the first prize of $300,000 and trophy over 1100M with a total prize package of $575,000 and trophy.
Animals classified H3 and lower will be racing for a winning package of $250,000 and trophy.
The final race will be for animals classified J1 and lower over 1100M for a pole position taking of $200,000 and trophy.
Kites and other giveaways will be a part of the day activities, while Crown Vibes International will be providing musical accompaniment.
