Malteenoes Sports Club opener Shemroy Barrington stroked 133 as Caldrac Sports Club defeated Calcutta
Sports Club by an innings and 125 runs when the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board Three-day Premier League two tournament continued recently.
Barrington slammed twelve fours and one six, while fellow Guyanese Eugene La Fleur scored 81 and Navin Stewart 62 as Caldrac posted 417 all out batting first at Hilbert Park.
Calcutta were bowled out for 129 in reply. M. Davis picked up four wickets while Stewart and Alston Nedd had two each. Trailing by 228, Calcutta were dismissed for 96 in their second turn at the crease. Nedd snared 3-37 and Stewart 2-11.
Playing in the 50-over tournament, Barrington scored 95 as his team overcame the said opponents by 146 runs. Batting first, Caldrac managed 275 all out in 50 overs. Barrington received support from Stewart with 87 as S. Bhal claimed 5-46. Calcutta were sent packing for 129 in 39 overs in response. M. Panchu scored 23 and V. Maraj 20; Nedd had 3-42, La Fleur 2-18 and Stewart 2-22.
