Port Mourant Cricket club U17 cricket team continued their campaign in Memorex U17cricket competition with an easy lopsided win against the Rose Hall Town senior female team in a two innings game played at the Port Mourant ground.
The RHT females are being allowed to compete with the U17 boys so as to give them much needed match practice.
The RHT females won the toss and boldly decided to take first strike. However, their batters were never allowed to settle and were blown away for a paltry 41 in a mere 20 overs. None of their batters passed eight with numbers two, three and four being dismissed for ducks. Bowling for Port Mourant, Cheddi Budhoo had figures of 4-14 from six overs. He was ably supported by Kevin Latif and Kameshwar Chaterpaul with three for 5 and 9 respectively, while Emmanuel Seecharran grabbed one.
Port Mourant in their turn at the crease declared at 165-4 with Sarwan Chatternarine scoring 49(2×4), Antonio Kempadoo 43(5×4), Chatterpaul 13 Not out and Seecharran 12 being the main scorers.
Bowling for the RHT Females V. Budhoo picked up two wickets while there was one each for Erva Giddings and Shamaine Campbell. In their second turn at the wicket the females fared a little better being dismissed for 70 with S. Vanderstoop 29 and Campbell 12 reaching double figures to lose by an innings and 54 runs.
Chatternarine had a good game as he returned with the ball in the second innings to lead the way with 3-5 with Chatterpaul and Eziekel Kempadoo taking two each, while there was one apiece for Antonio Kempadoo, Latiff and Seecharran.
