Caribbean champion Kristian Jeffrey failed to let the moderate turnout of fans dampen the day, instead he lit it up with a perfect performance which was the highlight of yesterday’s Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club (GMR&SC) National ‘Race of Champions’ Meet, at the South Dakota Circuit.
Jeffrey, who had returned from his home base in Canada, thrilled the fans with another dominating display to relegate the small field to the other places on the podium.
He won all three races to crown a solid performance for the day, while other impressive performances came from another Canada-based driver in Paul Vieira, who too raced unbeaten in Groupo 3, while Mohan Rangasammy did the same in the Group 4 races for two-wheel driven cars.
What was disappointing was the fact that there were no races in the Superbike category and Kaieteur Sport tried unsuccessfully to ascertain the reason (s) for the no show.
In Group 2, Rameeze Mohamed was in a class of his own and had Chet Singh trailing him for most of the day.
Also absent were Mark Vieira and Kevin Jeffrey thereby leaving the veteran Andrew King and Danny Persaud to battle the might of Kristian Jeffrey’s Mitsubishi Evolution VIIII.
Kaieteur Sport will publish the full results in a subsequent issue.
