Dear Editor,
I am a Guyanese, born in the Pomeroon at a place called Grant Unity next to Charity. I served my country for over 28 years as a teacher and school principal at three locations – Charity, Covent Garden, back to Charity, and Siriki.
I am living in the USA, presently working on a CD project. One of my hobbies was songwriting. I played the guitar and also sang on the radio on a program called TEENSVILLE.
I have made it very easy for anyone to master this song with an appropriate message by creating a simple but happy rhythmic melody that all can relate to.
Hope you like it also. You are the first to receive a copy of this song and I do hope you shall do your best to get it to the Guyanese public through your contacts in the various media. If you need further information from me, do feel free to get in touch with me, please.
Hope you enjoy the song.

OH HOW HAPPY CAN GUYANA BE!
O how happy can Guyana be!
One People, One Nation, One Destiny.
Oh how happy can Guyana be,
If we live and work in unity.
It’s another Anniversary
Since we have gained our liberty
Let’s celebrate with Festivity
Singing praise to the Almighty
Repeat verse one ( Sung with harmony)
Let us all strive to build this country
Bury all hatred and enmity
Self-reliance is what we need
With the help of God we will succeed
Repeat verse one…..
Many are the battles we have to win
Racialism is a national sin
Let’s co-operate and eradicate
Every evil deed that we contemplate
Repeat verse one – with harmony.
