Defending champs Herstelling exit following loss to Agricola
A new champion would be crowned following the exit of defending champions Herstelling Raiders on account of their 3-1 loss to Agricola yesterday when the East Bank Football Association / Ralph Green sponsored Under-11 League continued at the Grove Playfield.
Yesterday’s opening match saw Craig and Diamond United battling to a 0-0 draw with Craig and Grove Hi Tech set to face off in the final Group A match on Saturday. Grove are already assured of a place in the semifinals; a win will see them ending as the top team in the group.
Diamond and Craig are on a point each and a loss for Craig will see the battle for the second place in the group coming down to goal difference.
Agricola, after giving up a walk over to Friendship in their first match came with a mission to win and despite falling behind by the 6th minute, thanks to a Kai James strike for Hetstelling, Agricola kept on pressing.
They would sink the equalizer three minutes later to ensure the first half ended 1-1. The second half was all Floyd Boyce’s half as his two goals ensured victory for Agricola and a place in the semifinals as the second team emerging from Group B behind Friendship.
Boyce scored in the 19th and 21st minute of the 30th minute match.
