The Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF) National Basketball Championships: The Mackeson Road to Mecca III Final between Linden’s Retrieve Raiders and Georgetown’s Colts United promises to be entertaining for more than one reason.
First, it brings together two teams that have now both reached the Final of the tournament twice, which intensifies the urgency to secure the coveted title. Raiders played in the 2014 Final where they lost to Ravens and Colts played in the Final last year, losing to Pacesetters.

The night begins with the Diplomatic Corps taking on the Pioneer Masters. The third place game will follow with the 2014 and 2015 champions, Ravens and Pacesetters. The championship game will headline the night that features a full entertainment package.
Before the Final, Candace Fields will woo patrons with the National Anthem. Fields perform for the halftime breaks as well. In addition to Fields, models, cheerleaders and props will dominate a final hoorah to bring the curtains down on the Championships.
The Mackeson Girls and Stereo Sonics Sound will add to the entertainment. Patrons will be able to win I-phones and Tablets during the breaks. Generally the night is set to be pulsating with the sport and entertainment colluding for a riveting climax.
Kirk ‘Chow Pow’ Jardine is the host. The winning team will pocket $500,000 while second place will go home with $250 000, third $150,000 and fourth $100 000 respectively. The national team will be selected from this tournament to play Washington D.C Jammers.
