Devonshire Castle businessman, Wayne Moore is kicking off his sixth annual floodlight football festival featuring fourteen teams from across the Essequibo Coast. The teams will be competing for the first prize of $100,000. The weekend competition commences on the 19th and will conclude on the 20th, of March.
The anticipated annual event is expected to see local players perform better than the previous years. Games will start at 4:00PM on Saturday and the same time the following day. The games will also feature a grand opening ceremony.
Moore said every year there is an increase in teams and support. The teams competing against each other were named as Mourca, Charity extreme, Charity bomb squad, Wakapoa, Datthmouth, Devonshire Castle, Henrietta, GDF, Mainstay, Queenstown, Suddie, Buck- Hall and a team comprising employees from the Fire station at Anna Regina.
