The second day of the STAG / East Bank Football Association (EBFA) Senior League today will see potentially mouthwatering match-ups as teams seek to gain the advantage towards the top prize and bragging rights.
Agricola Red Triangle which finished second to defending champions Grove Hi Tech in the last league will open their bid against Diamond United which placed sixth of the eight clubs last time around.
The opening game features a clash between the Timehri based Soesdyke Falcons which placed third last time around coming up against Kuru Kururu Warriors which placed fifth.
Leading the charge for the Warriors would be midfielder Cordel Johnson who ended as the third highest goal scorer with 10 goals in the 2015 league. Johnson will find able support in the form of forward Ryan Scott, Ethan Sparman (GK), Mario DeFreitas, Allen O’Selmo, Christopher Alleyne and Michael Charles in midfield along with defenders Kevon Walker, Christopher Fraser, Joseph Walker and Michael Carrington.
Soesdyke will be fielding side made up of junior and senior players including the likes of Troy Johnson, Morrison Joseph, Kelsey Benson, Roger Dey, Roy Garraway, Darwin Boston, Shannon Samnauth, Seon Davis, Alvin Adams, Tyrell Khan, Kevin Sobers and John Seales.
Gordon Grant, who finished with 15 goals, second highest to Domini Garnett, the former Grove Hi Tech player who netted 21, will lead Agricola’s attack along with Winston Rollins, Devon Jeffers, Kacy John, Jermaine Frank and Collis Samuels.
Diamond United, their opponent must not be taken lightly as they too will be coming with a winning mindset. Diamond will depend on Eon Glen, Jermaine Leacock, Troy Forde, Eon Simon, Dellon Simon, Pernel July, Kronos Solomon, Nathaniel Paul and Orlando Bollers to lead their charge for an upset win.
