A third year student of the University Guyana currently studying Engineering was yesterday placed on $75,000 bail, after he appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan, to answer a charge of malicious wounding.
Orin Wilson, 41, on December 3, last, unlawfully and maliciously wounded Carvel Profitt at South Ruimveldt, Georgetown. Wilson lives at 160 Cornelius Avenue, South Ruimveldt Georgetown. He is a single parent of two children, ages 16 and three.
The prosecution objected to bail stating that the virtual complainant and the defendant lives in the same house. The upper flat of the building has two rooms which they both occupy separately. The Prosecutor’s file wasn’t complete and Wilson was placed on $75,000 bail.
The matter is adjourned until April 12, giving the Prosecutor time to prepare statements.
