Republic Bank has given their support to the Blairmont Cricket Club for the hosting of the Roy Fredericks Memorial T20 tournament which is slated for March 19 and 20.
The bank presented a cheque worth $60,000 to the club at a simple ceremony held recently at its D’ Edward branch, West Bank Berbice.
The event will see Cotton Tree Die Hard, Young Warriors, Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club, Bath Underdogs, Blairmont Blazers, Skeldon Gladiators, West Berbice Super Kings, Black Bush Rangers, Bush Lot Strikers and Lusignan Emperors battling for supremacy.
Blairmont Cricket Club also will partner up with Berbice Volley Association (BVA) during the event by hosting a volleyball outreach programme and a competition to resuscitate the game in the community; the home team DEFENDERS during 1995-2007 was one of the top sides in Guyana producing many junior and senior national players.
Among other attractions will be the staging of a Domino Competition, live commentary, Ice Cream and Air horns giveaway, Bouncy Castle, Trampoline and live entertainment from local artists.
Other sponsors that have graced the occasion so far are New Building Society, Green’s Massive, Basil and Son’s variety store, Rosignol Mall, Berbice Bridge Company, Baksh Travel Service, A&A General Store, Roshan Gafoor, Vickram Singh construction and Party Rental Service, Romel Bridgemohan Gas Station and Feroze Auto Sales.
