Police have recovered the body of miner, Errol Singh, who had disappeared on Wednesday after a boat he was travelling in overturned in the Mazaruni River.
A police source said that Singh’s remains were recovered around 14.00 hrs yesterday, a short distance from the area when the mishap occurred. His body was brought to the city.
According to reports, Singh and two others were in a boat that was traveling through rapids when the vessel overturned. Singh’s companions managed to swim to safety, but saw no sign of Singh.
The businessman owned a store and other businesses in Bartica, as well as mining concessions in the interior.
