Outstanding performances by Guyanese all-rounder Akaze Thompson helped Hibiscus
recorded victories in the Trinidad and Tobago female 50-over tournament recently.
Playing at El Dorado West Secondary School ground, Thompson grabbed 4-9 off eight overs, while Allison Collis bagged 5-18 to send Jus United crashing for 39 of which Plaffiana Millington scored 15. Hibiscus responded with 40 without loss. Rosalie Dolabaille made 18 and Rachel Vincent 13.
Thompson then picked up 5-27 off nine overs as Hibiscus overcame Cricket Lovers by five wickets. Batting first, Cricket Lovers scored 100 all out. Jovanka Simone 13 and Jenelle Charles 12 were their principal scorers; Shanice Pascal took 3-9. Hibiscus responded with 101-5 with Thompson scoring 21 and Pascal 17. Selena O Neil claimed 2-34.
Hibiscus beat Technocrats by one wicket. Technocrats batted first and scored 161 all out. Jodian Morgan struck 93 while Chedean Nation got 19; Rachel Dolebaille snared 4-25 and Thompson 3-14. Hibiscus responded with 162-9. Thompson cracked 43 and Dolabialle 14; Nation had 3-26 and Morgan 2-39.
