The Essequibo Cricket Board selectors have shortlisted an 18-man squad for possible selection on their franchise team for the upcoming Cricket Guyana Inc T20 tournament following two trial matches that was held on Saturday.
The squad reads; Anthony Adams, Ronsford Beaton, Kevon Boodie, Raymond Reifer, Ricardo Adams, Kevin Gordon, Eaknauth Persaud, Neiland Cadogan, Suresh Persaud, Herry Greene, Rovindra Parsaram, Vijay Surujpaul, Avenash Persaud, Anthony Ifill, Royan Fredricks, Parmesh Parsotam and Omeshwar Hurilall.
Meanwhile, Boodie XI overcame Anthony Adams XI by 17 runs in the first match that was held at Imam Bacchus ground. Batting first, Boodie XI managed 136-5 with Omeshwar Hurilall scoring 50 and Rovindra Parsaram 29; Suresh Persaud had 2-23. Adams XI responded with 119-5 in 20. Eaknauth Persaud struck 51 and Ryan Adams 20; Herry Greene had 2-32.
Adams XI defeated Vishwanauth Lall XI by eight wickets. Lall XI scored 103-8, taking first strike with Lall scoring 23 before he retired hurt. Anthony Ifill took 2-6 and Anthony Adams 2-11. Adams XI replied with 104-2. Avenash Persaud slammed 63 and Adams 19.
