Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) will be launching its revamped youth Cricket Programme for aspiring under-17 Cricketers on Monday March 14, 2016 at the Club’s ground commencing at 15.30 hours.
This programme will be headed by former National Coach and player Mark Harper who is an English Advance & WICB Level 2 Certified Coach with International Coaching Experience.
Young players and their parents who are interested in participating in this programme are asked to be present at the Malteenoes Sports club on Friday March 11 at 16:00 hrs to register for the programme.
A simple launching ceremony will be held before the commencement of the programme.
From the mid 1980s former MSC President Claude Raphael started a youth section and in 1987 seven members of National under-19 which participated the WICB youth tournament that years were MSC players.
Those players graduated to the first division MSC fielded basically the same group of players represented the club for the next decade showing the value of a vibrant youth system.
Meanwhile, approximately 85% of the club’s rehabilitation work has been completed with painting of the building almost done. A new Bar was constructed, new washrooms built and the entire building is being repainted.
