The six amateur boxers that participated in recent boxing card at the Giftland Office Max Mall (GOMM), Liliendaal, ECD were rewarded for their efforts when they were summoned to a ceremony at the above mentioned
location and presented with large food hampers.
Republican, Nankumar Singh had engaged Jason Phillips (FYF) and the latter pugilist won a lopsided unanimous decision, while Courtney Gibson (GDF) lost out to Diwani Lampkin (FYF). Dennis Thomas and Desmond Amsterdam were also on show and entertained the fans with three blistering rounds in an exhibition match.
President of the GBBC, Peter Abdool, commended the boxers and said that their presence has really added some flavour to the card. He said that officials of his organization were pleased to work in tandem with those of the GBA in the development of the young punchers.
Chief Executive Officer (GOMM), Roy Beepat, echoed Abdool’s sentiment while saying that he is very much interested in facilitating the boxers in their developmental drive. He feels that the boxers had really performed and it was a tremendous show. “I’d like to wish them all the best and commit to future initiatives towards their development,” exhorted Mr. Beepat.
