Dear Editor,
I am very happy of your articles of the policemen that exposed the Guyana Police Force. I must say that there is no other means to expose this organization because the other media house seems afraid.
After your article an officer went to the TSU and lectured to the ranks but he never came to the point. It seems like he is drifting in the sea alone.
So please permit a space in your news paper for this letter which I will be great full for you to publish. I am also a rank stationed at the Tactical Service Unit, Eve Leary.
My transfer came direct from the Commissioner of Police because I questioned one of his friends over a traffic offence. I was transferred to an office Eve Leary where a senior officer didn’t feel comfortable with my presence there and sent me to TSU.
At TSU the place feels like a slave camp. You have to be in the circle or else you will slave away until you the left the work. If you speak out they victimize you.
The administration at TSU is the main source of destroying that Department. I hope the new officer in charge of operation take a stern step in the TSU.
The salaries of several ranks were stopped for no reason. It violates the standing order or the law governing the Police Force.
There you have certain ranks getting all the extra duty while others has to work like slaves and the administration demand certain amount of money when one goes on extra duty. Some ranks get extra duty every week or other week, while others get every six month.
There was a large amount of extra duty money that disappeared which the administration of TSU received from the Guyana Election Commission that police had to receive.
This money was taken out of other ranks’ pay to replace it back. So if a rank worked twenty days they received five days money. Thank you for your kind cooperation
