The Port Mourant Universal DVD club has named a strong team to contest the rescheduled West Berbice Chamber of Commerce 20/20 cricket extravaganza slated for today at the C3 Park, Cotton Tree cricket ground, West Coast, Berbice
The event which was originally scheduled to be played on Sunday February 28 was postponed because of rain.
According to words out of the organizers all systems are in place and a fun filled and an action packed day is anticipated. Four top teams from the Berbice area are slated to participate including Cotton Tree, Blairmont, Universal DVD Port Mourant and Young Warriors.
The day’s activity is expected to get cracking at 09:00 hrs with the two West Berbice teams in Blairmont and Cotton Tree, while the Two East Berbice team in Universal DVD Port Mourant and Young Warriors will clash at 12:00 hrs. The winners of the two preliminaries will clash in the Grand Final.
According to a release from the Chamber, they are delighted to been a part of this initiative since it believes that investment in youths represents investment for the future. The Chamber welcomes the undertaking and urged residents to come out and support the initiative. The Chamber will continue to support the development of communities within which it serves.
Admission is free and the WBCC will be having a food sale and bar to raise funds for the less fortunate children. Interest partners and sponsors are asked to come on board and support this initiative.
The Port Mourant squad is: Avishkar Sewkarran, Troy Gonsalves, Chandrapaul Hemraj, Joshua Ramsammy, Andy Mohan, Samuel Kishnasammy’, Demetri Cameron, Loydell Lewis, Arrif Chan, Yudendra Harinarine, Nickolas Seenarine and Veramootoo Senwasane.
