The prolonged dry season continues to take a toll on every aspect of life. Residents living in the Pomeroon River have reported that the River has dried up significantly.
They said the water in the mighty Pomeroon River is low. The creeks which provide potable water have all dried up.
Residents are complaining that the water in the Pomeroon River now has a high level of salinity (salt water) and is damaging their crops. The water whenever used for bathing also causes discomfort.
The people are praying for the rains. Pomeroon residents are dependent on farming.
