The North Ruimveldt Multilateral Secondary School (NRMSS) Old Students Association recently elected a new executive to continue the resuscitation of the school’s facilities.
Dexter Wyles was elected to serve as President with Orin Walton as his Deputy.
The remaining members of the executive are: Secretary- Alecia James Patterson; Treasurer – Hazel Nurse; Assistant Secretary – Christopher Matthias and Assistant Treasurer – Beverly Mitchell.
The four Committee Members are: Deborah Dodson-Coulthrust, Julia Mckenzie, Minsodia Fenty and Reitta Roberts Dandrade, while the Public Relations Officer is Ivor Thompson.
Meanwhile, the Body identified a number of areas where the focus will be and they include the resurfacing of the Basketball Court located at the back of the Auditorium and the installation of a basketball hoop.
It was also agreed that because the previous wood flooring in the Auditorium was removed, the need to install a new one has arisen and work will be done in that area as well.
Among the other priorities is the tiling of the floor in the Home Economics Department (Food Lab) and the acquisition of qualified Coaches for all Sporting Disciplines.
The Body also discussed measures to improve the Drama Department and to commence dialogue with parents and teachers with the aim of hosting a mega-fair during/after Independence Celebrations.
