Dear Editor,
Please refer to a letter, which appeared in your Kaieteur News issue of March 3, 2016 “Team Benchop cites City Hall for victimization.” We are very disappointed with that position taken by Team Benschop. Then again, it is a good way of that party attracting attention to itself. While we recognize the team’s excitement to get on with its meetings we, at City Hall, have an obligation to ensure that all letters and other correspondences are properly processed. We are not particularly interested in the politics being played out in the run up to Local Government Elections. However, we are very concerned about attempts to implicate the City’s administration in the Canaille. Therefore, we deprecate the accusation of victimization by this group. Our only interest is to serve all citizens of Georgetown; nothing else.
