STAG/EBFA Senior League launched…Defending champs Grove to face Herstelling in opener tomorrow
The 2016 edition of the STAG / East Bank Football Association (EBFA) Senior League was launched yesterday at title sponsor, Ansa McAl Headquarters, Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara.

STAG Brand Coordinator Mr. Lindon Henry in announcing the company’s renewed commitment stated that they have been supporting football on the East Bank for a number of years and have seen the teams grow from strength to strength.
“Stag is very pleased to continue its partnership with East Bank football. We have seen the players develop and move on to the Stag Elite League which is in its first year and that we are proud of. As a company we are looking forward to even greater things from this year’s league and we wish the competing clubs, the best,” Henry noted.
EBFA President Franklin Wilson expressed the associations thanks to Ansa McAl and STAG for their continued partnership singling out Ms. Beverly Harper, Troy Cadogan and Ms. Darshanie Yussuf for special mention.
“The EBFA is once again thankful to Ansa McAl and Stag for their investment in our players across the East Bank spectrum. We have seen development of the sport and our players as a result of your investment and for that we are grateful. We commit to continue and improve this trend as a result of this year’s league,” Wilson stated.
Some seven clubs will battle for bragging rights beginning tomorrow afternoon at the Grove Playfield when defending champions Grove Hi Tech oppose Herstelling Raiders. The other competing clubs are Agricola Red Triangle, Soesdyke Falcons, Kuru Kururu Warriors, Diamond United and Mocha Champs.
Matches will be played every Sunday at the same venue.
