The Essequibo Cricket Board will be hosting a series of T20 matches starting today at Imam Bacchus ground. The matches will be used to select the county’s team for the upcoming CGI Local Franchise League T20 tournament.
The matches will commence at 09:00 hrs and among the players invited are Wayne Osbourne, Ricardo Adams, Ricardo Peters, Ronsford Beaton, Anthony Adams, Akini Adams, Vishwanauth Lall, Nokta Moses, Leorayan Ramlakhan, Herry Green, Grayson Paul, Kevin Gordon, Jason Heyliger, Roopesh Motilall, Norman Fredericks, Royan Fredericks, Parmesh Parsotam, Hemchand Persaud, Zameer Zaman and Tulsieram Premnauth.
Coach Michael Hyles and members of the ECB senior selection panel are expected to be there to witness the matches.
Meanwhile, ECB secretary Atto Christiani feels that Keemo Paul and Kemol Savory should be included to boost the county’s team, but instead they have been asked to play with other Franchises which he said in unfair. He stated that several of the county’s players who performed creditably at the junior level have stop playing because they were not given a fair chance on the senior stage, and wants the current crop of players to be treated fairly.
Stand up for your children, please.
