A 20-year-old cooking oil vendor who allegedly burgled an East La Penitence home, was yesterday denied bail when he appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
It is alleged that on February 10, at Freeman Street, East La Penitence, Keon Davidson broke into the home of Deon Holder and stole one flat screen television, a DVD player, two gold rings and three speakers all totalling $242,500. The items are the property of Holder.
Davidson pleaded not guilty to the charge read to him by City Magistrate Fabayo Azore. He was remanded to prison and will make his next court appearance on March 15.
Police Prosecutor, Corporal Simone Payne objected to bail, citing the prevalence of the offence. She also stated that if given bail the defendant might interfere with the virtual complainant since he lives nearby.
