The Guyana Oil Company’s (GuyOil) ‘Bling my Ride’ promotion wrapped up its
countrywide tour on Friday. In the end there were 104 Guyanese lucky winners of spectacular prizes that included beach umbrellas, tablet computers, flat screen televisions and ‘blinging’ car makeovers.
To enter the draws patrons were required to fill out promotional coupons after they would have filled their vehicles with $5000 and more worth of fuel.
Customers purchasing at the various Service Stations were then asked during the draws to dip into the coupon filled rotisserie to select winners.
There was excitement when the Regent Street Service Station brought the curtain down on the month -long promotion that had spanned as far as Berbice and Essequibo. Ten more beach umbrellas were won at the Regent Street Station. Top prizes went to Zaheir Rassack. of La Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara (WBD) who won the tablet computer; Odel Abrams of Stanleytown WBD who won the flat screen television, and Shawn Henry of Princes Street, Georgetown, who will have his car completely made over.
Winners from draws held at other GuyOil Service Stations, including Kitty, Diamond, and Sheriff Street stations, joined enthusiastic patrons at the popular city outlet to uplift their prizes and join in the closing ceremony.
Prior to the Regent Street draw, Guyoil had taken its promotion to a welcoming crowd at the Diamond Service Station on February 18 and then to A.M Khan’s Service Station in Anna Regina. Essequibo on February 20.
At Diamond, Nizam Yusuf of 210 Grove, won a Tablet computer, H. Monilall of 1822 Section C Diamond, won a flat screen television and Sewpersaud Deonarine of 574Section B Block C Great Diamond, won the car makeover.
U.Singh of Windsor Castle, Essequibo Coast, won the Tablet computer when GuyOil went to Anna Regina. Mahadeo Narine, of 17Airy Hall, Essequibo Coast, won the flat screen television and Michael Sooklall of Maria’s Lodge, Essequibo won the car makeover.
Retail Sales Manager, Jacqueline James, who headed the promotion, said that it was a great success. She thanked customers for their participation.
The promotion’s Ambassador, lone female race-car driver Sharima ‘Speed Queen’ Khan, also thanked GuyOil for having her onboard and commended customers for their support to the national agency.
James encouraged continued support for the State agency as she urged citizens to look out for more fruitful promotions to come.
