Two men were released on $100,000 bail each yesterday, after pleading not guilty to a charge of break and
enter and larceny, when they appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
Devon Hubbard, 30, a father of two, of Lot 7 New Market Street, Georgetown and Javon McRae of Water Street, Georgetown are accused of breaking into the storage bond of Paul James and stealing a quantity of copper wires to the value of $2M. The incident allegedly occurred between October 24 and 26, 2015 at Holmes Street. They denied the allegation after it was read to them by City Magistrate Fabayo Azore in Court Five. The duo will make their next court appearance on March 31.
Attorney Clyde Forde made a bail application on behalf of Hubbard and McRae. The lawyer told the court that his clients are not flight risks. He stressed that both men have no previous convictions or pending matter before the court. Forde stated that his clients are willing to comply with any condition to which bail is granted.
Police Prosecutor, Corporal Simon Payne indicated that the police file is still incomplete.
