2016 event set for Sunday March 27th at Rising Sun Turf Club
The Jumbo Jet Auto Sales and Racing Stables who are the organizers of the annual Guyana Cup, Guyana Cup Fever and Guyana Cup rematch horseracing events is reminding Horseracing fans that the Guyana Cup Fever Horse Race meet is set for Sunday 27th March at the Rising Sun Turf Club.
The organisers have released a provisional programme for the annual event and preparations have begun.
Seven races are on the cards with close to $8M in cash, trophies and other incentives up for grabs with the feature event slated for horses classified A1 and lower for a winning purse of $1.2M.
A look at the provisional programme will show the feature event is for horses classified A1 and Lower over 1400M for a winning take of $1.2million with total purse of $2,200,000 and trophy.
The F1 and lower event has a winner’s take of $600,000 and trophy from a total winning prize of $1.1M over 1400M.
There is an 1100M event for West Indies bred three year old animals for a top prize of $400,000 and trophy with a total prize of $750,000.
The G2 and lower 1400M match up will see the animals racing for a winning pocket of $400,000 and trophy with a combine purse of $750,000 and trophy.
The Guyana Bred three year old maiden horses will have a chance at competing for the first prize of $300,000 and trophy over 11000M with a total prize package of $575,000 and trophy.
Animals classified H3 and lower will be racing for a winning package of $250,000 and trophy.
The final race will be for animals classified J1 and lower over 1100M for a pole position taking of $200,000 and trophy.
The events will be held under the rules of the Guyana Horse Racing Authority.
The Organizing Committee reserves the right to cancel/refrain any race mentioned above.
In the event that there are less than five (5) horses entered for any event the Organizing Committee reserves the right to cancel or reframe the said event or reduce the prize money after notifying the horse owners.
Seven horses must start or no fourth prize will be paid.
