Dalchand Rambharose Inter-Sec. School U-15 Cricket – Berbice
Brilliant bowling from offspinner Ajai Tikaram spearheaded Black Bush Secondary School to an outright victory over Central Corentyne Secondary School as the 2016 Dalchand Rambharose Inter-Secondary School Under-15 Two-innings Cricket Competition got started recently.
In the match played at the Mibicuri Ground, Central Corentyne, choosing to bat first, soon found themselves 57 for 7 in the first innings with pacer Yuvraj Munessar and Tikaram picking up three each. They did not progress further than that as Tikaram proceeded to snare a hat-trick which left them 57 all out. Tikaram ended with 6 for 16 and Munessar 3 for 25.
When Black Bush Secondary replied, they were able to declare their 1st innings at 122 for 7 with Shazam Mohamed hitting 40 and Ezelikel Rebeiro 22. Bowling for Central Corentyne Shemroy Simpson took 2 for 19, Rawle Johnson 2 for 22 and Jamal Hickman 2 for 34.
Facing a deficit of 65 runs, Central Corentyne batted for a second time and was bowled out for 40 this time to lose by an innings and 25 runs. Doing the main damage again was Tikaram who took 6 for 12 this time to end with match bowling figures of 12 for 28 from 83 Overs. Totatram Ramnarine took 3 for 20.
