Dear Editor,
On Saturday gone I got a call from a resident of Zeelugt informing me that since the day before a truck hook a power cable whilst passing and cause a section of the area to be without power. Many calls by various residents that are affected by the outage make repeated calls to the emergency section of GPL and they were told that the technicians would come. Because many people had perishable stuff in their freezers and fridges that were under threats, I made a call with the emergency number available and after being told that my call is important please hold I did. A while later, a female who said her name is Sharon answered with loud noise in the background which caused me to keep repeating over and over the reason for the call. I was told that once a report is made the technicians would come. With that I decided to go home and whilst passing a popular drinking place in Uitvlugt. I saw a new mini bus parked with the emergency writing at the back. The crew/staff was sitting on the grandstand/bench outside drinking. When I went back in Zeelugt the next day, Sunday upon inquiries, I was informed that later the same bus went and rectify the problem later that Saturday night, but before they did, those affected had to make a donation.
