Aficionados of great calypso music will be in for a real treat tonight as Giddos Promotion and Skyy Vodka team up to host what will be the most sophisticated show of the year.
The event which is just part of the promoters’ “Icon Series” is expected to feature sterling performances from the Great Lord Laro and Guyana’s very own, the Mighty Rebel at the Rahaman Park.
It is undoubtedly the perfect way to kick off the Mashramani celebrations which get into full swing tomorrow. Kaieteur Entertainment understands that the iconic Trinidadian-born Lord Laro is excited to bring the “Tempo” for his fans and all those who enjoy rich, Caribbean music. He is also expected to perform his hits such as, “Plum Plum”, “Lover’s License”, and “Yuh Have Fe Dread.”
In an interview yesterday, the Calypso icon intimated that he is happy to be back in Guyana and is excited to perform his hits tonight. He revealed that he will be singing at least one of his most recently composed singles and promised that patrons will truly enjoy it.
Advanced tickets to this one of a kind event are available at Nigel’s Supermarket, Clairans Boutique, Matts Record Bar, Princess Raven Hotel and all Giddings Pawn Shops. To know more about the show or for ticket delivery, text $699 ICON (4266).
