The Guyana Relief Council (GRC) yesterday donated hampers to four families who lost their homes and belongings in fires.

Those who benefited from the donations were Patricia Mc Caddy (and her family of 12), of Middle Walk, Buxton, East Coast Demerara (ECD); Lennox Clarke (and his family of three), of 356 Kaneville, East Bank Demerara (EBD); Cidel Hector, (and a family of three) of Ann’s Grove, ECD, and Lalta Persaud, (with a family of six) of Unity, Lancaster, ECD.
Three of the families received mattresses, kitchen utensils, clothing and groceries. The other family is being given assistance to purchase building materials.
The NGO also assisted two other families who are experiencing difficult circumstances. For the year, the council has assisted 62 persons.
