The National Basketball Championships: The Road to Mecca III will be launched today at the renowned 704 Sports Bar and Lounge at the corner of Lamaha and Albert Streets from 3pm with teams and enthusiasts invited to usher in one of the most hyped basketball tournaments.
The National Championships, which is being held under Guyana Golden Jubilee umbrella, will bring together teams from New Amsterdam, Georgetown and Linden for three weekends of rivalry to determine the best club in Guyana.
More significantly, the winning team will have the right to be remembered as the one that won the National Championships in the year Guyana turned 50; as a result, and in an effort to allow more entertainment into the game, the Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF) will be officially launching the tournament today at 704 Sports Bar and Lounge.
