Upper Corentyne Cricket Association Mashramani Cup 2016
Demerara Bank Limited, Corriverton Branch and Venu Shopping Center and Beauty
Salon have joined the list of sponsors for the Upper Corentyne 5/5 Mashramani Cup. Popular cricket umpire Omadat Samaroo, Supervisor of DBL and Taruna Harrinarine of Venu were both elated to be part of this charitable event. Both organisations indicated how pleased they are with the work of the UCCA for keeping the game alive in the area despite challenges.
The much anticipated 5/5 Mashramani Cup 2016 is a one day cricket extravaganza set for February 21 at the picturesque No. 69 Vikings ground and features 10 top teams from the Upper Corentyne area: namely: No. 70 A, Crabwood Creek Sports Club, No. 72 All Star, No. 72 Cut and Load, Scottsburg United, Yakusari Caribs, No. 69 Vikings, Corriverton Cricket Club, No. 73 Young Warriors and No. 48 Challengers.
The day’s action will start at 9:00 hrs. Admission for adults is $200 with children under 12 free. There will also be gate prizes to be won. Musical entertainment will be provided by Spanish Eyes sound system with lots to eat and drink on sale.
The UCCA thanked Demerara Bank Limited and Venu Shopping Center and Beauty Salon for making contributions towards cricket development in the area. Proceeds from this event will go towards cricket development at the youth level. The Association also expressed thanks to the following sponsors for coming on board: NPG Packaging and Plastic Inc., Office Express, Safraz Photo Studio, Massy Distribution, Vishnu Super Store, Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited, New Building Society Limited and Country Side TV 19.
