University of Guyana (UG Wolves) Osie McKenzie used speed and power to reduce Pepsi Hornets defence to shreds to end over the tryline thrice in his team’s 29-14 triumph when the GTT/GRFU 15 League continued on Sunday, at the National Park.
Mc Kenzie’s outstanding effort was complemented by solid performances fromTrevon Selmo, who scored a try and Geoffrey Broomes’ three conversions and a field goal.
Captain Elwin Chase and Rickford Cummings with a try each and Ryan Gonsalves’ two conversions completed their tally.
UG Wolves now have two wins from three games after they defeated Police Falcons and lost to Yamaha Caribs, while Pepsi Hornets also have two wins in the tournament following victories against Yamaha Caribs and Police Falcons.
Meanwhile, Yamaha Caribs had a free walk in the park as the Police Falcons failed to field a full team at game time on Saturday, giving Caribs three easy points.
Caribs now have two wins in the tournament so far with their triumph over UG Wolves, being the other.
This weekend games mark the conclusion of the first round of matches in the League.
The GRFU 15 First Division League is being sponsored by Telephone giant, GTT.
