A fine all-round performance by Daniel Paul guided Georgetown to a comfortable
168-run victory over East Bank Demerara when the Demerara Cricket Board Inter-Association U15 50-over tournament continued yesterday at Farm.
Paul top scored with 43 to propel Georgetown to 224 all out in 47.3 overs before returning with the ball to capture four wickets for five runs as East Bank were skittled for 56 in 19.5 overs in reply.
Paul shared in a seven-wicket stand of 46 with Dwayne Dick after Georgetown were placed at 120-6. He struck three fours and one six while Dick who also hit three fours and a six made 35. Opener Navindra Persaud scored 17 while Campta Persaud and Yeudistir Persaud made 13 each. Phillip Mc Tuck claimed 4-40, Mark Tularam 3-59 and Alex Avinda 2-55.
Steady bowling by Paul and Akash Shivraj restricted East Bank to 16-6 before Mc Tuck and Amari Rhobe added 21 for the seven-wicket. Mc Tuck who cracked two fours and one six was smartly caught by Dwayne Dick off Shivraj for a top score of 19 while Rhobe made 10. No other batsman reached double figures as Shivraj supported Paul with 3-14. The competition continues on Saturday. (Zaheer Mohamed)
