The Guyana Squash Association (GSA) in collaboration with Digicel launched its 2016 season with the Bounty Farm Ltd Handicap Squash Tournament with opening round matches held on Tuesday night at the

Only preliminary matches in the Open category were played and all fixtures with the exception of two being decided in straight games.
Veteran player Dennis Dias (+10) displayed his vast experience when he easily disposed of Jamaal Douglas (+10), 15 – 3, 15 – 7, while former junior national player Raphael De Groot was extended in the second game with Dominique Dias (+10) before winning 15 – 11, 15 – 14.
One of the encounters which went the full three games was the match-up between two former junior players Steven Xavier (-4) and Andrea King (+10) with Xavier prevailing 15 – 9, 13 – 15, 15 – 10.

Avinash Odit (+6) defeated Maya Collins (+11) 16 – 14, 16 – 14
John Maikoo (+7) defeated Tiffany Solomon (+10) 11- 15, 15 – 9, 15 – 8
Jonathan Antczak (+9) beat David Fernandes (+10) 15 – 12, 15 – 12
Robert Hiscock (+10) beat Dustani Barrow (+10) 15 – 7, 15 – 6
Play was expected continue in both of the categories last evening.
