Ruimveldt overcame Laluni by three wickets when the East Bank Demerara Cricket Association (EBDCA) 50-over tournament commenced on Saturday.
Host Laluni took first strike and scored 141 all out in 29.1 overs. David Francis got 41 (3×4,2×6), Rayon Shuman made 32 and Alex Dundas 28. J. Hassan snared 5-32.
Ruimveldt replied with 144-7 in 21 overs. D. Nyron cracked 42 (5×4) and E. Ally got 32 (4×6). Romel Kadhu and Alvin Williams had three wickets each. The competition continues on Saturday.
