Saw Pit Sports Club of West Bank Demerara received a major boost from Imraz Hassan Import and Export on Friday night.
The company, which has branches at 50 Goed Intent and Saw Pit Square, WBD, presented a quantity of cricket gears including three bats, gear bag, gloves, Helmets, first aid kit, pads, score book and balls to the club at a ceremony held at their Saw Pit location.
Speaking during the presentation, Safraz Hassan, a representative of Imraz Hassan Import and Export, said they are pleased to be associated with the development of the game in the area. He added that he is impressed with the talent of the players and this led his company to offer its support. Hassan said that he hopes their undertaking will help to motivate the youths and they will continue to assist the club.
Chairman of the club Michael Persaud, who also captains the A team, thanked the company for their backing and gave the assurance that the gears will be put to good use, while the club’s B team skipper Krishna Adhin stated that this venture will help them to promote the game.
The Saw Pit SC currently boast an A, B and an U17 team.
