Ryan McKinnon continued his dominance while Stacy Vieira also excelled as they copped
the respective top positions in the Limited and Wildcat Divisions when the Guyana Sports Shooting Federation (GSSF) in association with Muneshwers Travels brought off the first Steel Challenge competition for 2016 yesterday at the Timehri Ranges.
McKinnon who has ruled the roost in 2015 commenced the new season in similar vein with an accumulated score of 78.48 to beat second placed Mohamed Qualander who tallied 94.38, while third place went to Azaad Hassan who had a score of 113.32, all in three stages of competition.
In the Wildcat class, there was no stopping Stacy Vieira whose score of 103.51 bettered that of second placed Trevor Bassoo (140.74) and Peter Hugh (142.04).
The top shooters in the Law Enforcement category were veteran marksman Harold Hopkinson who placed first ahead of Garfield Newton and Johan Rampersaud in that order.
GSCF President Ms. Vidushi Persaud thanked all the competitors for coming out and implored the need to work as a team going forward. Copies of Front Sight Magazines were distributed to the new competitors.
Meanwhile, a special prize of an Electronic Ear Muff was presented to Azaad Hassan. (Franklin Wilson)
