2015 A. Ally & Sons Inter-Secondary School Under-17 Cricket Competition in Berbice…
Lower Corentyne, Berbice High, Rosignol and Skeldon High reach semi-finals.
Lower Corentyne Secondary, Berbice High, Rosignol Secondary and Skeldon High School all got the better of
their rivals in their respective quarter-finals to advance to the semi-finals of the A. Ally & Sons Inter-Secondary School Under-17 Cricket Competition.
There were four centuries scored in the quarter-final. The biggest came from Guyana Under-15 all-rounder Junior Sinclair, who blasted 144 (16 fours and 1 six), and being involved in a 246 run-2nd wicket partnership with his Guyana team mate Kevlon Anderson, who hit 110 (8 fours) to help Lower Corentyne amass 300 for 3 declared in their 1st innings against Skeldon Line Path Secondary, who could only respond with 150 in the drawn match.
Berbice High School’s opening batsman Malcolm Mickle batted through his team’s innings to score 109 N.O. (8 fours and 1 six) which together with 93 (14 fours and 2 sixes) from Berbice Under-15 batsman Alex Algoo saw their school to 270 for 7 declared in their 1st innings against Bush Lot Secondary School. The two of them had put on 142 for the opening stand.
When Bush Lot Secondary replied, they reached 66 for 4 after which 12 years old Abdul Ramsammy took the last 6 wickets to bowl them out for 91. He ended with 6 for 8 from 7-Overs.
New Amsterdam Secondary School did well to bowl out Rosignol Secondary for just 100 in their 1st innings
but then Rosignol’s Berbice Under-15 pacer Javed Karim took 5 for 22 to reduce them to 52 all out in their reply. Rosignol batting a second time were 178 for 7 at the close with Karim scoring 109 N.O. (13 fours and 3 sixes).
In the other quarter-finals Skeldon High School managed to beat No. 8 Secondary outright by 4 wickets.

At Albion, Lower Corentyne Secondary took first innings points from Skeldon Line Path Secondary in their drawn match.
Lower Corentyne Secondary 1st innings 300 for 3 innings closed with Junior Sinclair 144, Kevlon Anderson 110. Mahendra Chaitnarine 2 for 80.
Skeldon Line Path Secondary 1st innings 155 all out with Alex Burnett 42, Mahendra Chaitnarine 23, Gavin Chatterpaul 21, Kevlon Anderson 2 for 15, Junior Sinclair 2 for 22, Keith Simpson 2 for 31 and Daniel Samaroo 2 for 36.
At Cumberland, Berbice High School took 1st innings points from Bush Lot Secondary School in their drawn match.
Berbice High School 1st innings 270 for 7 innings closed with Malcolm Mickle 109, Alex Algoo 93 and Michael McCurdy 2 for 28.
At Blairmont, Rosignol Secondary School took first innings points from New Amsterdam Secondary in their
drawn match.
Rosignol Secondary 1st innings 100 with Chandradat Veersammy 20, Stephen Peters 4 for 21, Joel La Fleur 2 for 15, Brandon Corlette 2 for 36 and 2nd innings 178 for 7 with Javed Karim 109 N.O.
At Scotsburg, Skeldon High School beat No. 8 Secondary School by 4 wickets.
No. 8 Secondary 1st innings 84 all out, Deinauth Persaud 20, Rishi Baichan 4 for 26, Satesh Chitnarine 2 for 7 and 2nd innings 92 all out with Taje Sukhraj 21, Tamesh Chatterpaul 4 for 15. Sunil Nara took 4 for 20.
Skeldon High School 1st innings 109 with Seeram Deochand 24, Dishan Phillips 4 for 43, Kevin O’Brian 3 for 12 and 2nd innings 71 for 6 with Steve Jordon 31 and Nigel Deodat 4 for 19.
