Two armed motorcycle bandits yesterday morning attempted a robbery on Edun’s Egg
Farm delivery van around 09:50 hrs.
An employee who asked to remain anonymous was with his boss Mr. Sidiq Edun and wife, in the vehicle, that had come to a stop at the traffic lights at Sheriff and Duncan Streets. Two men on motorcycle pulled up; one approached his side of the van and told him not to move.
The eyewitness recounted that the assailant then attempted to grab a bag he had in his possession. He said that he had nothing.
By this time the second one who was armed, ventured around to the driver’s side of the vehicle, pulled open the door and demanded cash. However Mr. Edun thinking fast quickly accelerated and drove away, but not before the bandits shot at the vehicle. The bullet missed Edun and struck the front windshield of the Canter.
At the time of the attack, Mr. Edun was reportedly making a delivery a short distance away.
