Shot Belizean UG student remains critical
Belizean University of Guyana student Glenfield Dennison remains in critical condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, (GPHC).
Dennison was shot twice by a gunman in Cummings Lodge, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
Dennison, 30, who is studying Law at the University of Guyana, was reportedly shot in the chest and left hand at about 21:30 hours on Thursday moments after he had dropped off his girlfriend at her home.
The girlfriend is also a student of the University.
According to reports, the student was about to ride off when the gunman walked up to him and fired shots.
Dennison was rushed to the GPHC where he was immediately admitted. He was said to be unresponsive even after undergoing surgery.

While details of the incident remain sketchy, Kaieteur News understands that the incident has since been brought to the attention of the Foreign Affairs Ministry. Officials of the Ministry have been in contact with their Belizean counterparts as efforts continue to investigate the incident and save Dennison’s life.
So far, police have ruled out robbery as a motive for the attack since nothing was taken from Dennison after he was shot. The police received a call from persons who informed them that there was shooting in the Cummings Lodge area, on Thursday.
