Games begin Sunday 30th January, registration starts this week
Golyn and sons will sponsor a 10/10 softball tournament that is to be administrated by the Guyana Softball League. The tournament will run for two months with the final slated to be on Saturday 2nd April, 2016 at a venue to be named.
The prizes for this tournament are as follows: Male -1st prize – $200,000 + trophy; runners up- $100,000 + trophy; MVP of the finals – $20,000 + trophy.
Female: 1st prize – $50,000 + trophy; runners up- $20,000 + trophy; MVP – $10,000 + trophy.
The tournament is geared at enhancing softball cricket in each area with all area boards having to ensure that maximum participation is achieved. The Guyana Softball League, which has some four programmes running at present, is moving aggressively to ensure softball cricket has more continuity in all areas to allow for the inter action of communities is achieved through the game and players from all areas have an opportunity to display their talent to the general public . The tournament will have 8 zones and each zone will have one qualifier to the quarter finals which is the knockout stage.
