For two mothers who were deprived of the comfort of having their sons since last year September and throughout the holiday season, the search for answers continues even as the clock continues to count down.
Prolific Alpha United Goal Keeper Ronson Williams, 28 year old and Carlos Anderson, a 20-year-old carpenter, disappeared without a trace on September 10, 2015. The last time Desiree Carter would see her son, Ronson Williams, alive was when he bid his mother goodnight.
“He came by me and he collected two jersey and a pants. And we were joking around like normal. I ask him where he going and he say he going football. Then he ask me if I alright, he give me a kiss on the forehead and is through the door.”
She said that when she looked out the window, it was to see that Williams was driving his friend’s car and Carlos was in the passenger seat. They drove off. When days passed and they did not return worry turned to fear.
Carter said that she reported the matter to the police since September 15, while Carmelita Pestano Anderson, the mother of Carlos Anderson, reported the matter since September 13 to the Alberttown Police Station. In their quest for justice, they have even taken it to the television.
Anderson said that every time she called her son, she would ask him if he was good and the response would always be yes. They both affirmed that they had never heard anything unsavory about their sons, or any warning indicators that the duo might be in danger.
However, Anderson added that while she might know what she has been told, she cannot say for sure that
her son had told her everything about his life. However, they both related hearing rumours about their sons over the past few months, ranging from claims that they had gone to Suriname, to claims that they had been murdered and their bodies burnt.
“A mother can’t know everything her son does,” she said. “But all I want to know is the truth. If he done something wrong, we all are human; we make mistakes. We want to know, because it has been close to four months. (Even) the car vanish”
Christmas
December was of special significance for Anderson. It is the month that Carlos was born. In addition, at least two other offspring were delivered in the month of December for Anderson. As if that is not enough, Anderson got married on December 29.
Relating how her Christmas passed without the pride of her love and joy, Anderson stated that this December gave her a chance for introspection. She learned, the hard way, to have faith in God. She gave thanks to God for having life throughout tribulation.
For Williams, it was a lonely Christmas that was once celebrated as a family unit. Neither of the women has given up hope, with Alexander spending Christmas praying for her son’s safe return.
The women noted that while police investigations seemed to have hit a snag in 2015, there appears to have been a renewed vigor in recent times. The family is currently offering a reward for any credible information pertaining to the disappearance of these two youths. Contact numbers are 592-678-1907 or 592-697-7738.
