ECCB 40-Overs cricket continues on Sunday …
The ECCB Trophy 40 overs tournament commenced last Sunday with three matches and will continue this Sunday with five more games. Following are the results of those matches.
At Better Hope – Lusignan East Cricket Club (LECC) won the toss and reached 163 all out in the 28th over. Anand Ramsaywack top scored with a classy 52 and Anil Jailal contributed 37. Bowling for Better Hope ‘A’ Rasheed Rohaman had 3-29 and Suresh Budhu 3-33.
In reply Better Hope ‘A’s Ricknauth Roplall clobbered 94 from 61 balls (9×4 3×6) while Christopher Deonarine supported with an undefeated 55 as Better Hope reached 164-1 to win by nine wickets.
At Paradise – Paradise Cricket Club (PCC) destroyed Golden Grove Cricket Club (A) (GGCC) by 113 runs. PCC won the toss and batted, Cladious Fraser with a robust 98 and Floyd James’ 77 led them to 232.
Bowling for Golden Grove (A) Richard Woolford took 3-41, Cleon Mc Lean 2-15 and Terry Gardener 3-22. In reply, GGCC was routed for 120 from 31 overs; Woolford leading with 25. Bowling for PCC Shaun Hosannah snared 3-14 and Joel Persaud 3-32.
At Buxton – Plaisance Cricket Club was given full points after Buxton Cricket Club failed to arrive on time. The ECCB / ECDCA and match officials once again are reminding all clubs to ensure that they fully comply with the rules, regulations and playing conditions.
In Sunday’s fixtures Ogle (Sponsored by Builders Lumber Yard) will take on Mon Repos at Ogle Community Centre.
Better Hope Sports Club (B) oppose Rockaway Cricket Club at Better Hope Community Centre.
Lusignan Sports Club (B) are at home to Golden Grove Cricket Club (B) at Lusignan Community Centre.
Carl Hooper Sports Club (B) of Buxton will play Lusignan East Cricket Club.
Paradise Cricket Club will entertain Plaisance Cricket Club at the Paradise Community Centre.
Meanwhile, the ECCB/ ECDCA is asking clubs outside of their membership along with schools who are desirous of playing in the upcoming sponsored Under-15 competition to call Raymond Barton for registration and other relevant information on 626-0223 or Davteerth Anandjit on 617-8502.
