Brings employment for 1500

Through an investment valued at US$13M and an initial employment creation target
of 1500 on the local shores, Teleperformance Guyana hosted its ceremonial launch at the Company’s Headquarters, Camp and Robb Streets, Georgetown with a ribbon cutting ceremony yesterday.
Teleperformance Guyana is housed in the six-story building that has been completely renovated to house the company’s new state-of-the-art facility.
It aims to enhance its ability to provide high-quality customer care, sales, and technical support solutions to its clients in English from a nearshore location.
Terry Casey, President of Client Services and Mike Corrigan, Executive Vice President of Operations, in expressing pleasure at being able to expand operations into Guyana, said that one of the aims is to build a strong relationship with the local community while welcoming the many talented new employees to the company’s growing team.
Both started work in the company on the floor and said Teleperformance’s expansion to Guyana demonstrates a growing demand among its clients for nearshore contact center support for U.S.-based consumers. The custom-built campus is located in the heart of downtown in the commercial centre.

Dr. Dale A. Dan, Vice President of Operations said, the opening of the Center started with a 1984 promise to God and her mother to return to Guyana with education and jobs.
In 2011, she returned with new educational opportunities and USD $3.5M in scholarships through the Bakke Graduate University (BGU) resulting in today’s groups of graduates at the Masters and Doctoral levels.
