Everybody want to look, feel and sound important. Even some people who never go to school, who never obtain a certificate think dem important once dem got a couple million dollar.
Dem political parties does tek people from all over de place and put dem in parliament so that dem get two initial behind dem name—Hem Pee. From de time dem hear that announcement dem feel that dem is de best thing Guyana ever produce. Dem boys know nuff of dem MT. And that emptiness does come out in parliament. Dem does try fuh use words and language wha dem nah even understand. And this does happen every single time.
Tek Li’l Rumson. Dem seh he is a scholar. Dem boys can’t tell you how dem would describe he in this column. But dem can tell you that de word begin just like how scholar begin. You figure that out.
De other day he stand up in Parliament and try to impress all dem MTs. He decide fuh quote Shakespeare. He see de word battalion and he call it ‘batty lion.’ Dem boys seh he learn that from he Daady.
Dem boys always believe that a man should use words wha he know, and he must always be simple and direct to de point. Don’t try to tie you tongue wid other people words, sentences and language.
Sooba, de previous Town Clown, was another one. She nearly cuss when she did trying to pronounce proclivity.
And now yesterday, de present Town Clown, Royston King, write a letter to de paper. He want to simply talk about somewhere next to de cemetery. Instead he put contiguous to the cemetery, he put contagious. For a moment people think he talking bout a disease in Georgetown.
Dem boys hear de two of dem been to de same school, sit down in de same back bench and fighting fuh de same wuk when dem lef school. Sooba had de wuk; she get knock out and a new Town Clown gone in.
Den you got dem GPL con men who go round and collect money by bullying some people. When de Waterfalls paper publish some of dem face, dem run and pay back  some of de money. Dem think by paying back de money no crime was committed—dem boys seh dem lie.
Talk half look out fuh de clowns who going to jail.
